Focus Group
I decided to find out more about my target audience which i will be aiming my music magazine towards. Through doing this I will learn more about the hobbies and interests of my target audience. From this i can use the information to help structure my music magazine. This could bring success for my music magazine because it will focus on the readers hobbies. I have asked three individuals which are in the my target audience:
This is amy who is aged 15 and is currently studying at Shoebury High School where she is currently taking her GCSE's in year 11. She has mixed feelings about her future goals, however at the moment she thinks she would like to work as a young children's nurse. Amy is a very dedicated dancer where she does several hours a week. She does Tap, Modern and Jazz. She prefers the variety. Amy has been a dancer since 3 years of age and she has made many friends through dancing. Amy music interest are varied because she likes all different genres of music, however if she had to pick a favour she would choose R&B. Sometimes she likes going to the mayhem teen nights because its a chance to have a laugh with some friends. Amy does sometime like to use her mobile phone, however this is only a recent fad.Amy usually uses MSN of an evening time as her main source of communicating with people. She also uses Myspace and Facebook. Amy does not usually read music magazines, however if one interests her she will read it. Her fashion taste is rather predicable as she shops in Topshop, Miss Selfridge and New Look. 
This is Claudia who is aged 13 she is currently at school at St Bernards High School And Arts College. Claudia has no accurate idea of what her future holds, however she is very clear that she wants the study drama further. This is because she finds this very interesting. Claudia goes to many drama classes which helps her with this. Her other hobbies are Running, golf and sailing. These are very active sports and she feels she is a very sportive person. She feels keeping fit is very important to her. She hopes she will keep this up in the future. She loves to sing many R&B tunes to herself and also could be caught dancing around at the same time. She loves to enjoy life. Claudia loves to commute with people because she loves talking, however she will not use MSN or social networking websites to do this. She also goes shopping to many store like Topshop because they are very fashionable. Also she loves to use ASOS.com to order clothes. However Claudia does have a problem with buying clothes because she is a very skinny size 6.
This is Jess who is aged 12. She is currently studying at New Hall Private school. Jess has no idea what she would like to aspire to be in the near future. However Jess does enjoy school and the hobbies it includes. Jess plays Tennis and golf and also does dance and horse riding lesson. She enjoys playing golf and tennis because it is very energetic and a very good way of meeting people. She also likes going to modern dance lesson and has recently appeared in dance shows with her dance class.Jess also love pet, which explain why she likes horse riding. She gets a very exciting thrill out of horse riding. Jess likes Pop and R&B music and regularly updates her ipod with these.She loves to communicate by texting on her mobile, however this is restricted at private school. Jess also using social networking and MSN to communicating. Jess does not really read music magazine as they do not really interest her. Jess's favourite shop is also New Look so therefore she has a particular type of fashion.
